Vietnam seeks cooperation with Belarus in medical, military heritage tourism development

MINSK, 23 October (BelTA) – Vietnam intends to develop cooperation with Belarus in the medical and military heritage tourism. The matter was discussed at a meeting between Deputy Sport and Tourism Minister of Belarus Mikhail Portnoi and the Vietnamese delegation leg by Deputy Director General of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Ngyuen Quoc Hung, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Sport and Tourism Ministry.

The parties discussed the Belarusian-Vietnamese cooperation in tourism and proposals to expand contacts in the sector.

According to Mikhail Portnoi, the long-standing friendly relations between the two countries create a favorable environment for strengthening cooperation in tourism. The agreement on cooperation between the Sport and Tourism Ministry of Belarus and the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism of Vietnam created a necessary legal framework. “Although there is a basis and contacts, the cooperation is still not systemic. One of the reasons is the absence of true and full information on Belarus’ tourism potential and the services we provide to our travelers,” he noted.

One of the goals of the visit of the Vietnamese delegation to Belarus is to collect and analyze the information on the country, hold talks with representatives of the tourism business. “You have wonderful nature, kind people. We have strong ties. Vietnamese people may be interested in the medical and military heritage tourism. We are determined to strengthen ties with Belarusian counterparts in these areas,” said Ngyuen Quoc Hung.

He also suggested organizing mutual tours for representatives of travel agencies and mass media and invited Belarus to take part in tourism exhibitions in Vietnam.
