VILNIUS, 21 April (BelTA) – Helsinki is hosting today the second Belarus-Finland investment and economic forum at which the government, businessmen and banking circles of the two countries are outlining the further cooperation areas, BelTA has learnt.
The social and economic situation as well as the investment climate of Belarus has been presented at a plenary session by Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Valery Voronetsky, Deputy Economy Minister Andrei Tur, Deputy Energy Minister Yuri Rymashevsky, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vasily Romanov, Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences Sergei Rakhmanov. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Finland and Lithuania Vladimir Drazhin delivered a greeting speech.
The experts of the Belarusian banking system, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, heads of the Belarusian companies have told the Finnish businessmen about the tendencies of the trade and economic cooperation, positive changes in the country’s investment climate.
From the Finnish side speeches have been delivered by Deputy Foreign Minister Pekka Huhtaniemi and senior adviser of the Fin-PRO Company Seppo Laine.
The plenary session was followed by a match-making session and bilateral meetings between businessmen of Belarus and Finland.
According to the organizers, the forum should become a platform for the expansion of the cooperation and development of new contacts in the area of banking services, production and investment.
