Belarusian confectionery Kommunarka in for rebranding

MINSK, 11 November (BelTA) – The Belarusian confectionery factory Kommunarka will go ahead with a rebranding campaign, BelTA learned from Kommunarka’s Director General Ivan Danchenko.

The Kommunarka CEO said that at present the company works with the world’s best design agencies to create new brands and promote its products. The products customers know already will be rebranded as well. For instance, the Lyubimaya Alyonka lineup will be expanded, the wrapping of the chocolate bar will be slightly changed. The new product varieties primarily target young people. It is a lineup of chocolate with exclusive tastes, sweets with various filling agents, said Ivan Danchenko.

A large-scale effort to upgrade Kommunarka’s manufacturing capacity has been in progress since 2013. As much as Br476.9 billion has been spent on implementing the investment project since then. As a result of the effort the deterioration ratio of the key assets has dropped from 70% to 30%.

Every year SOAO Kommunarka makes about 20,000 tonnes of sweet products. The product range includes over 250 product names. Those are sweets, chocolate, boiled sweets, sugarplums, and cocoa powder. Kommunarka satisfies the domestic demand for waffle and aerated sweets and chocolate products.

The company exports about 20% of the output. Belarus-made sweets are represented in over 18 countries, including Germany, the USA, Lithuania, Latvia, Kazakhstan, and Mongolia. About 80% of the export is channeled into Russia. Since the beginning of the year Kommunarka’s export has increased by 30% in natural terms.
