MINSK, 17 June (BelTA) - Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko met with Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during the official visit of the Belarusian parliamentary delegation to Kazakhstan, on 15-18 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.
"The parties discussed a wide range of issues relating to the interaction between the two countries in trade, economy and humanitarian field, the strengthening of inter-regional cooperation between Belarus and Kazakhstan, and the interaction between Belarusian and Kazakhstani MPs in the international parliamentary organizations," the press service said. The agreement on cooperation signed between the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan opens additional opportunities for deepening the Kazakh-Belarusian bilateral relations in various fields. In addition, Vladimir Andreichenko and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev discussed the plans for legislative activity in Belarus and Kazakhstan.
On the same day, the Belarusian MPs met with executives of the national company Astana EXPO 2017 and got familiar with the preparations for this event. "The parties expressed their desire for continued interaction between Belarus and Kazakhstan in the field of exhibition and fair activities. The Chairman of the House of Representatives confirmed the interest of Belarus to participate in the implementation of infrastructure projects in Kazakhstan as part of the preparations for the EXPO 2017, and the regional development programs," the press service noted.
The Belarus parliamentary delegation also visited the Nazarbayev University. Vladimir Andreichenko noted the importance of strengthening joint work on developing the Belarusian-Kazakh cooperation in the field of education, in particular the direct inter-university interaction.
