Belarus, Armenia to bolster trade, economic cooperation

MINSK, 28 August (BelTA) – Belarus and Armenia are set to focus their efforts on bolstering the bilateral trade and economic cooperation. The matter was discussed during the meeting between Armenia President Serzh Sargsyan and Ambassador of Belarus to Armenia Igor Nazaruk who presented his credentials to the Armenian head of state on 28 August, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“Serzh Sargsyan congratulated Igor Nazaruk on the appointment. The President stressed that the people of Armenia have a special cordial regard for Belarus and its people. He noted that the two countries are connected by time-tested friendship and wished Igor Nazaruk new achievements in developing all-round Belarus-Armenia cooperation. Besides, Serzh Sargsyan emphasized that all Armenian government agencies stand ready to provide the Ambassador with all possible assistance,” the press service said.

“Igor Nazaruk expressed gratitude for the kind words and assured the Armenian President that he will make maximum efforts to maintain the high level of dialogue between Belarus and Armenia and promote mutual understanding. He promised to focus his efforts on strengthening Belarus-Armenia ties in all areas of mutual interest and look for new cooperation opportunities. The parties agreed on the importance of advancing the bilateral trade and economic cooperation,” the press service added.

Serzh Sargsyan and Igor Nazaruk also discussed the prospects of cooperation in science, technologies, and humanitarian affairs and talked over the interaction between Belarus and Armenia in the international arena.
