MINSK, 2 March (BelTA) – BeCloud company presented its two key cloud computing projects — the Republican Data Processing Center and the Republican Cloud Platform, BelTA has learned.

“BeCloud data center is the biggest data processing center in Belarus and one of the most up-to-date in Eastern Europe. The center’s cloud platform is unique in Belarus and is available to the governmental and private institutions in test mode,” representatives of the company noted.

The national cloud platform will help both the state and the private sector to cut down on IT expenses. The data center has been designed and built in compliance with the international standards Tier III Design and Tier III Facility. This is Belarus’ first and only data processing center to pass this level of certification, which testifies to the center’s extreme reliability and safety as high as 99.982%.

The Republican Data Processing Center occupies 12,000m2. The facility allows installing 624 server cabinets. One of the center’s main peculiarities is modular design. It will allow commissioning the data center gradually in four stages, with 156 server cabinets deployed with each stage. The first module is already in operation.

“Belarusians have become much more interested in cloud technologies over the last 12 months. Experts estimate that the sales volume of cloud services in Belarus in 2016 increased to a total of $10 million,” beCloud Director General Sergei Poblaguyev said.
