Aleksandr Lukashenko takes the oath of allegiance to the Belarusian nation

January 21, 2011 saw the solemn inauguration of the President of the Republic of Belarus. In the presence of the country’s top-ranking officials as well as multiple guests Aleksandr Lukashenko put his right hand on the Constitution of Belarus and took the oath of allegiance to the Belarusian nation: “Assuming the office of the President of the Republic of Belarus, I do solemnly swear that I will reliably serve the nation of the Republic of Belarus, respect and defend rights and freedoms of persons and citizens, abide by and protect the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, faithfully and scrupulously execute my office”.
