Foreign visitors must have travel insurance for Belarus covering the length of their stay

What sort of travel insurance do you need for Belarus?

Medical insurance to a minimum value of €5,000  is required for travel to Belarus.

Insurance can be obtained from Belarusian insurance companies or accredited foreign insurers. An insurance policy issued by a foreign insurance company should be valid in Belarus during the entire period of stay.

Foreign visitors must also pay a mandatory state insurance that depends on the period of stay and varies from €2 (3-4 days) to €85 (a year).

Travel insurance is one of Belarus’ visa requirements.

Do all foreign visitors to Belarus need insurance?

No. These foreign visitors to Belarus do not need travel insurance:

• tourists crossing the country on a transit visa
• diplomats and official delegations
• flight crew and rail staff
• CIS citizens
• refugees
