Regions, business communities urged to contribute more to Belarus-Poland cooperation development

MINSK, 19 January (BelTA) – It is necessary to more actively involve representatives of the regions and the business communities in the development of cooperation between Belarus and Poland. Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich made the relevant statement as he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Poland to Belarus Konrad Pawlik on 19 January, the press service of the upper chamber of the Belarusian parliament told BelTA.

The meeting was focused on discussing the agreements reached during the visit of the Polish parliament delegation led by Marshal of the Senate of Poland Stanislaw Karczewski to Belarus in December 2016. “The contacts we built gave a systemic start to the joint work on implementing the reached agreements,” said Mikhail Myasnikovich.

Mikhail Myasnikovich suggested working together to make sure all the events and projects sketched out during the visit will take place. Mikhail Myasnikovich also suggested using new opportunities of bilateral cooperation in full measure.

In turn, Konrad Pawlik expressed gratitude for the visit to Belarus on behalf of the Marshal of the Senate of Poland. Konrad Pawlik informed Mikhail Myasnikovich that the Polish side also pays close attention to the implementation of the agreements reached during the visit and to the entire spectrum of Belarus-Poland cooperation.

During the negotiations the sides also talked over topical aspects of cooperation in other avenues of mutual interest. The meeting at premises of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly was arranged upon the initiative of the Ambassador of Poland.
