MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) – Belarus can and should play a bigger role both in the regional and international politics, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said in his article for the Belarusskaya Dumka magazine to mark 25 years of Belarus’ independent foreign policy, BelTA has learned.

“After reaching a qualitatively new stage in its development, Belarus can and should play a bigger role both in the regional and world politics,” the minister stressed in his article.

History shows that new challenges also mean new opportunities. These are opportunities to overcome stagnancy, reach a new technological level, advance standards in social and economic development, achieve the goals that remained unattainable before. “The way we use these chances depends solely on us,” Vladimir Makei said.
