Search for happiness in documentaries of Belarusian film festivalMINSK, 29 September (BelTA) – The documentary films program of the 24th edition of the Minsk international film festival Listapad includes stories about search for happiness, BelTA learned from the organizers of the event.

The program of the documentary films of the festival includes four stories about search for happiness which encourage viewers to think why people are so attracted to each other despite differences between them.

Gogita’s New Life by Levan Koguashvili is a story full of compassion and irony about a man who returned from prison and decided to marry the woman he had met on the Internet. The problem is she is not really the prettiest woman in the world. You can find out how the story ends by watching it in the Mir cinema.

Levan Koguashvili is a well-known director among Minsk viewers. His pictures Street Days and Blind Dates won prestigious awards in Minsk.

The film Happy tells a real story of its director, Carolin Genreith. The director’s father decided to marry a young Thai girl. The age and mindset differences look rather suspicious. That is why, Carolin goes to Thailand to her father. This full of adventures film shows if love really knows no age.

The debut picture Avec L’Amour by Macedonian director Ilija Cvetkovski has already been shown at the festivals in Germany and Canada. This is a story of a retiring professor and his fantasy of turning his car collection into a museum of vintage cars.

The last film of the program is the short film Close Ties by Zofia Kowalewska which has won many awards at the film festivals all over the world. It is a story about a couple who decided to celebrate their forty-fifth anniversary despite the fact that the husband cheated on his wife many times.

All the films are united by the desire to understand how to win one’s love and what concessions we need to make in order to understand each other.

The 24th edition of the Minsk international film festival Listapad will take place on 3-10 November under the Truth, Love, and Beauty slogan.

Listapad has been established by the Belarusian Culture Ministry and Minsk City Hall in cooperation with the National TV and Radio Company, the National Film Studio Belarusfilm, and the Belarusian Union of Cinematographers.
