Number of Belarus' visa-free visitors reaches 465MINSK, 15 February (BelTA) – The number of foreigners opting for visiting Belarus visa-free has reached 465, BelTA learned from the State Border Committee.

As of 9.00 on 15 February (the new visa rules went online on 12 February), a total of 465 people crossed the border checkpoint in Minsk National Airport visa-free. Among them are 82 citizens of Germany and the same number of visitors from Poland, 48 citizens of Italy, 32 – Lithuania, 21 – France, and 20 people from the UK, the State Border Committee said.

As BelTA reported, the five-day visa-free entry to Belarus was launched on 12 February. The new regulations apply to citizens of 39 countries of Europe, including the entire European Union, as well as Brazil, Indonesia, the USA, Canada, Japan, and other countries. First of all, these are the countries without migration problems, Belarus’ strategic partners, the countries that unilaterally apply visa-free entry regulations for Belarusian citizens.

Citizens of Vietnam, Haiti, Gambia, Honduras, India, China, Lebanon, Namibia, and Samoa must have a valid document for traveling abroad with a valid multiple-entry visa of one of the European Union member states or the Schengen Area member states bearing a European Union or Schengen Area entry stamp, and also tickets with a return date from Minsk National Airport.
