MINSK, 22 May (BelTA) - Belarus Ambassador to Israel Vladimir Skvortsov presented a certificate of commendation of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Chairman of the Israeli Association of Immigrants from Belarus Mikhail Alshansky, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission.

Mikhail Alshansky, who has been leading the association since 2001, has been honored in recognition for his significant contribution to the development of Belarusian-Israeli relations and the efforts to protect the rights and interests of the Belarusian diaspora in Israel. “When presenting the certificate, the Ambassador noted that the association that unties more than 6,000 people and 32 regional offices across Israel has been working to increase the recognition of the Republic of Belarus among the citizens of Israel and to keep extensive interpersonal contacts. Vladimir Skvortsov stressed that the decision to honor Chairman of the Israeli Association of Immigrants from Belarus Mikhail Alshansky, who is also one of the members of the Advisory Board for Belarusians Abroad at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, means the recognition of his many-year work to strengthen bilateral cooperation,” the embassy said.
