Belarus to present ten animated films at Animayevka 2014

MOGILEV, 18 August (BelTA) – The 17th international festival of animated films Animayevka 2014 will be held in Mogilev on 16-22 September, BelTA learnt from the organizing committee of the festival.

This year the forum will feature 159 films from 39 countries. Among them is Belarus, Russia, Austria, Armenia, Belgium, Bulgaria, the UK, Germany, Georgia, Denmark, India. First steps in the festival will be made by Argentina, Brazil, Denmark, Iraq, Columbia, Singapore, Syria, the U.S., Croatia, Sweden, Slovenia, and the Netherlands.

According to the decision of the expert commission, the competition program of the forum will comprise 85 animated films from 28 countries (Argentina, Belarus, Bulgaria, Brazil, the UK, Germany, Georgia, Denmark, India, Iraq, Iran, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Columbia, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Syria, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, France, Estonia).

Belarus will present its ten animated films, including seven works made at the Belarusfilm Studio: A story of the Past (Irina Tarasova, Natalia Kostyuchenko and other), The Lark’s Song (Tatiana Kublitskaya), Rondo Capriccioso (Igor Volchek), About Girl Zhenya 3 (Tatiana Zhitkovskaya), Mousy (Vladimir Petkevich), Tales of an Old Piano. Chopin Episode (I.Kodyukova), A Fish Named Must Not 5 (Alexander Lenkin).

The program of the festival will comprise competition and out-of-competition programs, master classes, theatrical performances for children, including shows from the Moscow Puppet Theater Balagan, meetings with Honored Artist of Russia Oksana Stashenko, author of the international social project Cradle Songs for the Whole Family Natalia Faustova, Honored Figure of Art of Russia Grigory Gladkov, actor of Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater Oleg Garbuz, animated and fiction film producer of the Belarusfilm Studio Yelena Turova and many others.

Partaking in the children’s animated film contest “I am not a magician yet, I am just learning…”, in its fourth year, will be seven countries. The panel of judges will select the best out of 58 pictures.

The festival is founded by the Culture Ministry of Belarus and the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee.
