Belarus’ runner Arzamasova wins World Challenge Meeting in Morocco

Belarusian runner Marina ArzamasovaMINSK, 9 June (BelTA) - Belarusian runner Marina Arzamasova won the World Challenge Meeting in 800m event that took place in Marrakesh, Morocco, BelTA has learned.

Marina Arzamasova clocked the time of 2:00.71, a centisecond better than her result in the IAAF Diamond League in Rome where the athlete took seventh place.

Shot-putters Yelena Kopets and Yulia Leontyuk did not take medals but were close to them. Yelena Kopets showed fourth best result (18.09m), while Yulia Leontyuk was fifth (18.07m).

In the 3,000m race Svetlana Kudelich finished 7th (9:45.37). Andrei Churilo was 8th in high jump (2.20m).

Belarus was represented by four athletes in the European Cup 10,000m in Skopje, Macedonia. Sergei Platonov finished 11th, clocking the time of 29:29.14, Ilya Slavinsky was 22nd (29:57.29), Maksim Pankratov – 26th (30:05.74), Stepan Rogovtsev – 34th (30:54.55) out of 45 participants of the race.
