Exhibition Ten Centuries of Belarusian Art in the National Art Museum of Belarus

Slutsk Belts exhibition

Slutsk belts are a Belarusian relic famous all over the world. These belts were created in the 18th-19th centuries at manufactories, the most famous of which was the one located in Slutsk and belonging to the Radziwill family. The belts were made to an intricate technology using silk, gold and silver threads. Back then they were part of a men’s costume being the evidence of power and wealth of their owner. Four belts will be exhibited, all dating to the late 18th to early 19th century and loaned by the Lviv History Museum. Other exhibits worth seeing are portraits of the Belarusian gentry dated by the 18th-19th centuries.

Spirit of Times and Luxury: Fashion and Style of 1820-1920

Unique items from the private collection of designer Igor Surmachevsky are on display at the splendid halls of Mir Castle. The exhibition features clothes, shoes, and accessories that were an integral part of the image of a woman in 1820-1920. For example, evening gowns, ball dresses, and even wedding gowns reflecting the European fashion trends that prevailed a century ago are currently on display at the Ivory Hall of Mir Castle…

Hippopotamus Show in Belarusian State Circus

The world’s only animal tamer who works with several hippos at once, People’s Artist of Russia Tofik Akhundov will present his grand program for the first time in the Belarusian capital. It will be an inimitable performance, with some of the planet’s largest animals surprising spectators with complicated stunts and unbelievable pirouettes. The hippos will play leapfrog, build “a pyramid”, turn on their backs, and even waltz…

27th international festival of classical and modern chamber music

The international forum in ancient Polotsk brought together musicians from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Spain, Poland and Germany. Classic music masterpieces will be performed under the dome of the Holy Wisdom Cathedral. The audience will be treated to a fascinating program:

Exhibition by Nikas Safronov in Minsk

The Russian painter Nikas Safronov is one of the few modern artists with global recognition. The majority of his works are in private collections and museums of Western Europe and America. The famous owners include Sophia Loren, Alain Delon, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Pierre Cardin, Montserrat Caballe, Madonna… The exhibition in Minsk will feature over 90 new works in various genres, including exclusive works in the unique style Dream Vision, which has earned an entry in the Guinness World Records…

Exhibition Ten Centuries of Belarusian Art

For the first time ever the country’s primary art museum will host an exhibition of the best examples of Belarusian art over the course of ten centuries — from the Byzantine Empire to the modern time. The exposition will feature unique works by Belarusian artists with international recognition, whose works have been returned to the motherland just recently. Visitors will be able to see pictures by Marc Chagall, Chaim Soutine, and the famous picture Tomasz Zan’s Portrait by Walenty Wankowicz, the book Baton of Power (1667) by Symeon of Polotsk…

Metal All Stars in Minsk

A stellar cast of about 20 great singers who assembled for a one-of-a-kind European tour will share one stage in the Palace of Sports in Minsk. This fascinating show will last for two and a half hours during which these renowned names will rock the Belarusian capital with the legendary metal hits. The singers will perform 4-5 most famous hits of the metal bands they were or are part of and will also sing hits from Motorhead, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Manowar, Megadeth, AC/DC, Rainbow, Whitesnake and Ozzy Osbourne. The concert will conclude with a joint performance.

Exhibition of Itinerants in Nesvizh

With a view to promoting the best of the Russian art, “The Society for Travelling Art Exhibitions. 21st Century” (Saint Petersburg) arranges expositions in Europe’s biggest museums and galleries. The collection to be presented in Nesvizh features over 50 paintings, graphic works and sculptures by 28 artists from all over Russia – from Moscow to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The works of modern “Itinerants” will be displayed in the ancient halls of the Radziwill family nest.

Atomexpo-Belarus 2014

The 6th international exhibition/conference Atomexpo-Belarus 2014 will feature the world’s latest solutions in design and construction of nuclear power plants, as well as cutting-edge technologies and equipment for the nuclear energy industry. A conference “Nuclear energy prospects in the Republic of Belarus” will be held on the sidelines of the forum. The conference will bring together scientists and engineers to discuss Belarus’ nuclear energy development strategy, personnel training, construction and operation of the nuclear power plant and energy security.

Bi-2 in Minsk

Over ten years ago Bi-2, one of the most successful rock groups in Russia and the CIS, decided to experiment and performed their songs accompanied by the Interior Ministry’s symphony orchestra conducted by Russia’s Merited Artist Felix Aranovsky. The project was a success and the band decided to do it again and again. Now the band’s orchestra-accompanied concerts are a sell-out. In 2010 they released an album in collaboration with the Interior Ministry’s symphony orchestra. In 2013 they recorded their second album with the Prague Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. The symphonic version of the band’s best hits will be performed in Belarus – the home country of the band – for the first time. Shura and Lyova Bi-2 will present the classic interpretation of their hits and a brand new single (which name has not been revealed yet) as part of the new program “The best of…” on Belarus’ biggest stage. Singers Varya Demidova and Elizaveta will make a guest appearance at the concert.

Fall-Winter 2014/2015 Fashion Show

Belarus Fashion Week, the biggest event of the Belarusian fashion industry, will bring together in Minsk manufacturers, buyers, experts and bloggers from many countries. The hottest autumn/winter 2014 fashion trends will be presented by famous fashion brands from Belarus and abroad, like Tsokolenko, Fashion Centre, Kardash, Kucherenko, Davidova, Fur Garden, Boitsik, Harydovets&Efremova, Marinich, Ava by Valeria Aksionova, Apti Eziev, Sheldon, kaij&kaij, Belarusachka… Young designers will showcase their collections as part of the program Off Schedule BFW. About ten designers will show the upcoming lines of children’s clothing during Kids Fashion Days BFW. Recreation 2014 Tradeshow

The international tourism trade fair Recreation 2014 will be held in the run-up to the tourism season. Visitors to the tradeshow will be able to choose a tour and get familiar with new excursion programs, hottest travel destinations and health farms in Belarus and abroad, as well as new services in the field of insurance, transportation, sports equipment… Presentations, meetings, roundtable sessions and master classes will be held on the sidelines of the tradeshow.

Dina Rubina in Minsk

Taisia Povaliy in Minsk

Taisia Povaliy, a popular Ukrainian singer, Grand Prix winner of the international song contest Slavonic Bazaar 1993 in Vitebsk, has been on stage for over 20 years. She has sung more than 150 songs in various genres and styles: from classics and folk songs to soul. The program Good Luck in Love features the singer’s hits and famous opera pieces.

Alexei Rybnikov Theater in Minsk

The theater that staged Alexei Rybnikov’s legendary rock opera Juno and Avos will come to Minsk again. This time the theater will present the famous rock opera Love and Death of Joaquin Murrieta. The opera is based on the figure of Joaquin Murrieta called the Mexican Robin Hood and the tales that grew up around this controversial personality who lived during the times of the California Gold Rush of the 1850s.

MSK Fashion Week

MSK Fashion Week will bring together established and fledgling designers from Belarus and abroad. The guests of honor will be fashion experts from France, Italy and the United Kingdom. Besides the haute couture show, the audience will be offered an extensive educational program that will include lectures, seminars, master classes, presentations, exhibitions, meetings with fashion experts and representatives of foreign companies.

Motoveloexpo 2014 and Outdoor Recreation and Sport

At the start of the warm season outdoor sports lovers will be invited to attend two exhibitions that will take place in the same exhibition center. The exhibitions will feature motorcycles, quad bike, personal water craft, all kinds of bikes, accessories and gear and many other things that will come in handy during outdoor activities and sport… Participants and visitors will be offered to take part in presentations, master classes, attend a bike trials show and motorcycle and quad bike stunt riding. Minsk Body Building Championship will be held during the exhibitions.

Kenny G in Minsk

This American jazz saxophonist, holder of numerous music awards, the 25th-highest selling artist in America, is the jazziest of all popular performers and the most popular of all jazzmen. Kenny G collaborated with many famous names, like Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole. His latest album Heart and Soul was nominated for a Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Album in 2011. The album organically combines jazz and R’n’B. In Minsk Kenny G will perform his best hits and new tracks.

TIBO 2014 Expo

TIBO is Belarus’ biggest IT forum and one of the major events in the field of telecommunications and software in the CIS and the Baltic States.
