Viva Rovar 2018: Fancy outfits and sports adventures
12 May 2018

For the fourth time Minsk downtown became the center stage of the local cycling movement. Viva Rovar 2018 brought together 17,000 cycling enthusiasts, which was a new record for the event! The festival was about colorful costumes, eye-catching makeup, smiling faces and, of course, bicycles.

The carnival procession went along Pobeditelei Avenue from the Minsk Hero City Stele up to Minsk Arena and to the Victory Park that was the major entertainment venue of the festival. The entertainments were many and included a music concert, photo zones, over 30 interactive playgrounds and prize drawing.

Taking part in the event were well-known Belarusian athletes, including eight-time world champion and head of the Belarusian Cycling Federation Natallia Tsilinskaya with her family and famous cyclists Evgeny Gutarovich and Evgeny Korolyok.

The music concert starred Alexander Solodukha, Ruslan Alekhno, J:Mors Russia’s music band Sever17, and People’s Artist of Belarus Vladimir Gostyukhin. Attending the festival was Belarus’ Sports and Tourism Minister Sergei Kovalchuk. "In fact, it is the first time I will go biking in such an atmosphere. It is nice to see so many people here and all of them are in a great mood. The atmosphere is awesome!" the minister shared his impressions of his debut at the festival.
