Victory Square 2018: a gala concert in the heart of Minsk Hero City

The celebrations of the 73rd anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War culminated with the Victory Square 2018 gala concert. Thousands gathered in the center of Minsk, the place which has long been known as a symbol of courage and heroism, memory and gratitude from descendants.

This amazing concert in the open air, which is held only once a year and has already become a good tradition, is watched live by the whole country. This is a musical and theatrical gift to war veterans and the audience that gathers near the monument and in front of TV screens. The concert features the country’s best singers and talented youth who present the best wartime songs.

The concert featured singers Anatoly Yarmolenko, Inna Afanasyeva, Vladimir Petrov, Elena Salo, Elena Dubrovskaya and many others. People’s Artist of Russia, performer of the song Den Podeby Lev Leshchenko attended the event as a special guest.

The fireworks of 30 salvos lit up the sky over Minsk at 23.00. The fireworks were launched from five different spots of the city, including the Minsk Hero City Stele, Minsk 1 Airport, Vostochny residential area and the village of Zatsen.
