After a successful world tour around North and South America and Europe, the legendary mucisian Sting came to Belarus for the first time in seven years to present his new album, 57th & 9th. In his words, this release marks a sort of a comeback to rock music. The album title is a reference to an intersection Sting crossed every day to get to the recording studio.

Over the course of the 40-year career the famous Brit has scored an impressive number of awards: 16 Grammies, 25 American Music Awards, MTV Music Awards, a Golden Globe Award for the soundtrack for the Kate & Leopold movie, three Oscar nominations for Best Original Song, a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

This time the rock star performed in the country’s largest venue – Minsk Arena – together with a unique collection of musicians: the guitarists Dominic Miller and Rufus Miller, the accordionist Percy Cardon, the drummer Josh Freese with a special guest – Sting’s 41-year-old son Joe Sumner (singer-songwriter and Fiction Plane’s bassist).

Belarusian music lovers chanted brand new songs 50,000, I Can’t Stop Thinking About You, and, certainly, the well-loved hits: Shape of My Heart, Englishman in New York, Fields of Gold, Every Breath You Take, Walking on the Moon…
