ISU Junior World Cup Speed Skating in Minsk

The first leg of the ISU Junior World Cup Speed Skating was held in the Belarusian capital Minsk on 26-27 November. The International Skating Union (ISU) approved the participation of neo-seniors (athletes under 23) in the event for the first time. Participating in the international competition on the skating stadium of Minsk Arena were juniors from more than 20 countries.

On the first day Belarusian representatives clinched two medals: Ignat Golovatyuk won the 1000m gold in the neo-senior category – 1:11.08 seconds, and Aliaksei Kirpichnik earned bronze on the 3000m distance – 3:58.52 seconds.
