Grodno Welcomes Peace Light of Bethlehem

The Peace Light of Bethlehem lit in the grotto of Christ's birth in the Church of the Nativity, Bethlehem reached the Belarusian border on 21 December. From there on, the flame was brought to St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Grodno's main Roman Catholic church. The Peace Light of Bethlehem was taken to Belarusian parishes by Catholic scouts. Every year Catholic scouts light a candle in Bethlehem's basilica and take the flame to different countries of Europe. The Light of Bethlehem symbolizes peace, hope and harmony. Thanks to the unity of youth from different countries, it overcomes distances and comes to those who wait for it.
