29 Sep 2018

Golden-brown delicious draniki is an essential part of the Belarusian national cuisine. Draniki occupy a special place among Belarusian national dishes. Draniki are potato pancakes cooked according to old-time recipes that have countless variations. They can be served with lingonberry sauce or in pots with sour cream. The Belarusians even organize festivals to celebrate their beloved dish!

The fourth edition of the Dranik Fest kicked off in Mogilev on 29 September. The Zelenaya Roshcha ethnic farmstead hosted one of the most delicious, musical and, according to the organizers, camera-friendly events in the city. The festival included the draniki cooking program. The Belarusian traditions in the contemporary hip-hop, ethno-folk and folk-rock interpretation were featured in the music program. The entertainment program invited the guests to take part in the Golden Grate and #bulbaselfie contests, master classes by craftsmen and a fair of homemade preserves.
