TOP-20 Belarus’ photos in March 2018

What can we recall about March 2018? Which Belarusians made history by making a name for themselves and their country in the international scene? What events were discussed most?

March 2018 did not bring spring weather at all. Instead it offered genuine winter weather to nearly 170 young biathlon athletes, who competed in the final stage of the national competition Snow Sniper in the sport facility Raubichi. By the way, a team of famous Belarusian athletes let by the head of state went skiing then.

The 2018 Winter Paralympics may have been the most inspiring event of the month. Belarusian athletes demonstrated the best Paralympics performance on record. Belarusians were triumphant at ski racing and biathlon: Svetlana Sakhonenko, Yuri Golub, Dmitry Loban, and Lidia Grafeyeva won 12 medals (4 gold, 4 silver, and 4 bronze medals), securing the eighth position for Belarus in the medal count.

The Paralympics athletes were welcomed back home with honors. The head of state hosted a solemn reception later on where Olympic Games winners were also present. By the way, many of them did well during the IBU World Cup Biathlon Tyumen: Darya Domracheva finished the season with flying colors, by winning the final mass start race, while Nadezhda Skardino won a Small Crystal Globe for the first time in her career.

Apart from that, March 2018 featured such important sport events as the Beauty Run 2018, the final stage of the children and youth ice hockey tournament Golden Puck, the final stage of the ISU World Cup Speed Skating, and a European Athletics Championships among athletes with hearing impairment in Minsk.
