15 March – Belarus’ Constitution Day
15 Mar 2013

Today Belarus celebrates the Constitution Day. The country’s basic law was adopted on 15 March 1994, according to which Belarus is a unitary democratic welfare state based on the rule of law. Traditionally, nationwide celebrations are held on this day. One of the main events is the nationwide patriotic campaign “We are Citizens of Belarus” which culminates on the Constitution Day. 14-year-old boys and girls receive their main document-a passport of a citizen of the Republic of Belarus - from the hands of famous people: MPs, heads of government agencies and public organizations, veterans, famous athletes.
