MINSK, 3 March (BelTA) – President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and his Ukrainian counterpart Viktor Yanukovych have held a telephone conversation, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service.
The Ukrainian President thanked Alexander Lukashenko for his support and expressed appreciation for his participation in the solemn events dedicated to his inauguration in Kyiv on 25 February.
The presidents discussed the preparation for the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The Belarusian President upheld an initiative of his Ukrainian counterpart to hold the Victory parades in the hero cities.
Viktor Yanukovych informed the Belarusian leader about his recent visit to Brussels and meetings with EU leaders and about the forthcoming visit to the Russian Federation.
The heads of state agreed to meet soon to discuss the bilateral cooperation. The presidential administrations of Alexander Lukashenko and Viktor Yanukovych jointly with the interested government agencies will elaborate the agenda for the forthcoming meeting.
