MINSK, 26 November (BelTA) – Vietnam is a significant and time-tested partner of Belarus in Southeast Asia. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the statement as he met with Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong on 26 November, BelTA has learned.
“Despite the geographical distance our countries have been connected with ties of intimate friendship and mutual aid for decades,” said the head of state. In his words, the two countries vigorously cooperate in all areas today.
Alexander Lukashenko pointed out the importance of the fact that Vietnam’s influence constantly grows on the regional and global scales. The two countries have similar approaches to topical matters of international politics and productively cooperate within the framework of international organizations.
“We see many untapped reserves for further enhancing our partnership. It is primarily true for the trade and economic sphere,” said the head of state. Belarusian companies are capable of considerably increasing the shipment of Belarusian machines to the Vietnamese market, primarily, agricultural machines and automobiles.
The President stressed that in trade relations Belarus is ready to use modern instruments such as leasing, export loans and insurance.
