Slavianski Bazaar festival opens in Vitebsk 13 July

VITEBSK, 13 July (BelTA) – The 26th edition of the International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk will officially open on 13 July, BelTA has learned.

The opening ceremony will be traditionally preceded by a number of events. The cultural and sports center of the Summer Amphitheater will host a ceremony of raising 36 flags of the participating countries and the flag of the festival. A little later, the Square of Stars will host a ceremony for Tamara Gverdtziteli, the holder of the special award of the President of the Republic of Belarus “Through Art to Peace and Understanding” and a draw ceremony for the semifinals of the 26th International Song Contest Vitebsk 2017.

The gala concert and ceremony to celebrate the winners of the International Children’s Song Contest Vitebsk will be held in the afternoon. The Grand Prix winner will take part in the grand opening gala in the evening.

Other events of the festival are also expecting sell-out crowds: the Vitebsk concert hall will host a concert in tribute to the memory of Alexander Tikhanovich; the Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic will offer a program of the winner of the Russian Voice TV show monk-priest Photius.

The project Theatrical Meetings will continue with the Bride for Rent comedy by the Syuzhet company. Italian composer, writer and artist Depsa, who is also a member of the panel of judges, will present an exhibition of his graphics works at the regional museum.
