Prospects of Belarus’ cooperation with Swiss Glencore discussed

MINSK, 12 May (BelTA) – Prospects of cooperation with the Swiss commodity trading and mining company Glencore International AG were discussed as Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko met with the company’s top executives on 12 May, BelTA has learned.

The head of state said: “I’ve heard a lot about you, about your accomplishments in business recently. It does not seem right that such a large company — Europe’s sixth largest — has no business and no standard business contacts in Belarus.”

“I would like us to come to terms so that we could work together in some areas,” added Alexander Lukashenko.
