MINSK, 29 July (BelTA) – Ukrainian President Piotr Poroshenko called Belarusian head of state Alexander Lukashenko to ask to engage Belarus as a negotiating platform to solve the Ukrainian crisis. The telephone conversation between the presidents of the two states took place on 29 July at the initiative of the Ukrainian side, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The heads of state discussed a number of issues of mutual interest.
"The President of Ukraine asked the Belarusian head of state to engage the Republic of Belarus as a site for negotiations involving all the parties concerned to solve the Ukrainian crisis. Alexander Lukashenko agreed with this initiative,” said the press service of the president.
