Moldova eager to borrow Belarus’ best practices in agriculture, industry, social sphere

CHISINAU, 18 April (BelTA) – Moldova is interested in borrowing Belarus’ best practices in agriculture, industry, and social sphere. Moldova President Igor Dodon made the statement during expanded-participation negotiations with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 18 April, BelTA has learned.

Igor Dodon said: “What is going on in Belarus is very interesting for the majority of Moldovan citizens. Frankly speaking, they would like to live as well as people in Belarus. Your country develops very dynamically. We are interested in borrowing the best practices in various segments: you have a great deal of projects in agriculture, production sector, and social sphere.”

In turn, Alexander Lukashenko underlined the importance of friendly relations with Moldova. “I am not going to recount our projects. We have done a lot in the past and particularly recently. You are just what we need in trade and economic relations: you make everything Belarus lacks. We are kindred people. I have never forgotten it and never will. Belarusians are not strangers for you, I understand, whatever political views you may uphold. We have no geopolitical, strategic interests here except for friendly ones. This is why taking into account the fact that we are kindred people and the fact that you make everything we need, we are going to purchase things from you. And we make everything you need,” noted the Belarusian head of state.

Alexander Lukashenko pointed out that apart from trade the Belarusian side was ready to set up joint ventures in order to make the products Moldova’s development requires.
