Minsk named OSCE-Ukraine-Russia meeting venue

MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) – The participants of the high-level talks in Minsk on 26 August supported the proposal of Ukrainian President Piotr Poroshenko to make the Belarusian capital a regular venue for the OSCE-Ukraine-Russia contact group meetings, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said following the meeting of the Presidents of the Customs Union, Ukraine and top EU officials, BelTA has learned.

“Proposals have been made for the group to convene as soon as possible. Piotr Poroshenko wants the meeting to take place in the shortest possible time,” the President of Belarus said.

Lukashenko: Minsk named OSCE-Ukraine-Russia meeting venueAs was reported, the three-party contact group of top officials of Ukraine, Russia and the current OSCE President’s Office held a meeting with representatives of the separatist groups from the eastern Ukraine in Minsk on 31 July 2014. Then the participants of the meeting reached agreements on two main issues under the discussion” provision of access for international experts to the Malaysian Boeing crash site and release of the hostages held by the two sides.
