IVATSEVICHI DISTRICT, 10 August (BelTA) – The harvest campaign is in full swing, but it is needed to step efforts, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said during his working trip to Brest Oblast on 10 August, BelTA informs.
“I see that the harvest campaign is in full swing, everything is alright, but it should be accelerated by 10-15%,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
Belarus’ Agriculture and Food Minister Leonid Zayats complained of the delays in delivering pelletized fertilizers to farms. “The government should make a decision immediately. The demand for fertilizers should be satisfied,” the president instructed.
The head of state also spoke about the provision of fuel to farms. Alexander Lukashenko urged to step up control over the efficient use of fuel.
The president familiarized himself with the technological processes of gathering crops and straw.
About 80% of areas under crops have been harvested in Brest Oblast so far. Plans have been made to harvest 1.2 million tonnes of grain and 200,000 tonnes of corn.
