Steven Seagal was shown Belarus’ most cultivated plants: beet, cabbage, carrots. The tasting of the new harvest was also held in the field.

The American guest also watched the harvesting of potato and gourds, the agricultural plant that is gradually becoming a traditional crop in Belarus. “Some five years ago it was hard to imagine that we would cultivate such watermelons. The guest got extremely interested in them. Over a light dinner in the President’s Residence the American guests were offered dishes of the Belarusian cuisine. They liked kholodnik (beetroot soup), potato and, of course, Belarusian salo (bacon),” the spokeswoman said.
