Lukashenko: BelNPP is an example of nuclear power plant of the future
MINSK, 27 July (BelTA) – By building the Belarusian nuclear power plant, Belarus and Russia want to show an example of a nuclear power plant of the future, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at a meeting to discuss the training of the personnel for the nuclear power industry and provision of housing to the Belarusian NPP personnel on 27 July, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian NPP is a good example of a nuclear power plant. “We are building the world’s best nuclear power plant. Thus Russia, together with us, wants to show what nuclear power plants should be in the future,” the President noted. He stressed that the NPP construction should not be expedited. All works should be on schedule and of high quality.

According to the President, the first power-generating unit is scheduled for commissioning in 2018. The second one is to go online in 2020.
