Lukashenko: Belarus ready to do everything for Georgian people

MINSK, 14 November (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to do everything for Georgia and the wellbeing of its people, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with outgoing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Belarus David Kotaria on 14 November, BelTA informs.

“Please be sure that Belarus will do everything for Georgia, for the wellbeing and prosperity of wonderful and hardworking Georgian people,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

Lukashenko: Belarus ready to do everything for Georgian peopleThe head of state said that in recent years Belarus and Georgia have found opportunities for developing economic cooperation and boosting bilateral trade. Belarus delivers a wide range of goods to Georgia. “We export machine-building products to Georgia. And we will deliver other products if you are interested. We are ready to use our technologies to make our equipment for agriculture and manufacturing in Georgia,” the president said.

Alexander Lukashenko also remarked that Georgia President Giorgi Margvelashvili grows Belarusian varieties of potato, and he even did not expect that the harvest would be so good. “This is a good result, now we supply even more potato seeds to Georgia,” the head of state said.

Lukashenko: Belarus ready to do everything for Georgian peopleIn January-September 2017, the bilateral trade of Belarus and Georgia reached $72.6 million (up 21.5% from the same period of 2016). Top Belarusian exports were railway and tram cars, freight vehicles, milk and concentrated cream, filament yarn, drugs, butter.

OAO MAZ, OAO Belkommunmash, Stadler Minsk are holding negotiations on the delivery of passenger vehicles to Georgian towns; OAO Mogotex and OAO Lenta are planning to export fabrics and materials to Georgian manufacturers of police uniform, OAO Pozhmash and OAO MAZ are going to deliver firefighting equipment for the Georgian Interior Ministry.
