FEI World Cup leg kicks off in Ratomka

MINSK, 14 April (BelTA) – The FEI World Cup leg and international dressage competitions have kicked off at the National Olympic Equestrian Center Ratomka, Belarus, BelTA learnt from the Belarusian Equestrian Federation.

The program includes Grand Prix, Grand Prix Special, Grand Prix Freestyle to Music, Prix St-Georges, Intermediate I, Intermediate I Freestyle to Music, Junior Team Competition, Junior Individual Competition, Junior Freestyle to Music, Preliminary Tests and Finals for Young Horses.

The first day of the event will include the Preliminary Tests for Young Horses and Junior Team Competition. The World Cup leg will be wrapped up with the Grand Prix competition on 17 April.

The World Cup in Ratomka is a qualifier ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and the FEI 2017 European Championships in Goteborg, Sweden.

The four-day tournament in Ratomka will include 14 medal events. Partaking in the competitions will be nearly 60 sport pairs. The best athletes from Russia will comprise Inessa Merkulova and her Mister X, Marina Aframeyeva and her Wax, Yekaterina Kharchenko and her Gulliver. Among the Belarusian favorites are Anna Karaseva and her Harlequin, Yekaterina Yefremova and her Latino, Alla Nikanorova and her Vatican, Nadezhda Fyodorova and her Rambo.

The FEI World Cup and international dressage competitions are held in Belarus on an annual basis and receive high rating from international experts.
