Darya Domracheva voted Belarus’ Sportswoman of the Year 2014
MINSK, 25 February (BelTA) - Three-time champion of the Winter Olympic Games 2014 in Sochi Darya Domracheva was recognized Belarus’ best athlete in the nomination Sportswoman of the Year during the Triumph. Sports Heroes 2014 competition. The awards ceremony was held at the Minsk Palace of Sports on 25 February, BelTA has learned.
The leader of the national biathlon team Darya Domracheva took three gold medals at the 2014 Winter Olympics by winning the individual race, pursuit, and mass start.
The winner of the Triumph. Sports Heroes 2014 in the nomination Sportswoman of the Year was chosen through a fan vote. About one and a half million people took part in the vote.
The open public competition Triumph. Sports Heroes 2014 is a large-scale project of the President's Sports Club, the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, the National Olympic Committee and the National State TV and Radio Company of Belarus.
