BREST (BelTA) – The 24th International Classic Music Festival “January Music Nights” has gathered in Brest representatives of 12 countries, from Russia, Lithuania, Switzerland to China and Japan, showing the ability to unite not only states but different cultures, Brest Governor Konstantin Sumar said at the opening ceremony of the festival on 9 January.
“Brest Oblast has recently become a venue for many international events. There have been economic and environmental forums, world and European championships, music and theater festivals. The January Music Nights Festival will be a real feast for Brest residents and a good reason for meetings and communication between true classic music connoisseurs,” Konstantin Sumar noted.
The official expressed hope that this year’s festival would provide ultimate experiences to classic music lovers. “Apart from the Brest Academic Drama Theater, concerts will be held in the Pruzhany Cultural Center and the Brest Oblast Art Museum,” Konstantin Sumar said.
The 24th International Classic Music Festival “January Music Nights” will stay open until 12 January. Its organizers are the Brest oblast executive committee, the Brest City Hall, the Belarusian Union of Musicians and the Brest Music Society.
