MINSK, 20 January (BelTA) - Belarusian Darya Domracheva came in third in the women’s Pursuit at the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 6 in Antholz, Italy, BelTA has learned.
The three-time Olympic champion started in fourth. After shooting clean at the first shooting range she took the lead. The Belarusian made one miss at the fourth which did not allow her to get ahead of Germany’s Laura Dahlmeier. At the finish of the race the Belarusian showed ‘fair play’. In the last turn she stepped on Dorothea Wierer’s pole and did not attack on the last 50 meters as a result.
Laura Dahlmeier won the race with the result of 29:45.0 ( +0 +0 +0). The silver went to Dorothea Wierer +17.3 seconds (1+0 +1 +0) and bronze to Darya Domracheva +20.2 seconds (0 +1 +0 +1).
Finnish Kaisa Makarainen maintains her lead in the overall World Cup standings with 544 points. Darya Domracheva moved up to the 8th position (376 points).
The BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 6 in Antholz is the last one before the Olympic Games in South Korea.
