“The celebrations should become a landmark event. We mark the 500th anniversary of the Belarusian book printing and the 1155th anniversary of the founding of the city of Polotsk. Special attention will be paid to the subject of Belarusian statehood. Polotsk will host the Belarusian Literature Day celebrations for the third time, which means that the level of its organization should be higher than in previous years. Polotsk is moving forward, which can be noticed in the facilities that we have visited today. The chairman of the district executive committee, his deputes and heads of agencies presented reports on the status of the preparations. We approved the concept and agreed on the symbols of the celebration. The city deserves special attention, and many foreign guests, including diplomats and writers from different countries, will come to see it. I am confident that the celebrations will be organized in the best possible way,” Vasily Zharko said.
