Belarusian company to develop software to manage 2nd European Games Minsk 2019

MINSK, 15 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian IT company Synesis Sport, which resides in the Hi-Tech Park, will develop the software and hardware block for the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019, BelTA learned from the 2nd European Games Directorate.

The relevant cooperation agreement was signed during the international information and communication technologies expo TIBO 2018 on 15 May.

Synesis Sport Company will develop the entire software and technology block of the 2nd European Games, including the website minsk2019.by, a dedicated messenger, and a mobile app.

Georgy Katulin, Director of the 2nd European Games Directorate, said: “A lot of work needs to be done to organize such a complicated, functional, and multisport event like the 2nd European Games in an up-to-date manner. The event also provides for coordinating the operation of various departments and areas of work of the organizing committee. For instance, the areas of work include transport management, coordination of arrivals and departures, television broadcasting. All of it needs to be done in line with rules of the relevant international federations. The Games will take place at 15 sites and will need a huge amount of infrastructure. All of it will rely on information technologies.”

Director of Synesis Sport Company Dmitry Shvedko noted that Belarusian companies had not supplied their services for the IT block of such large international sport events. The proposal made by the Belarusian company turned out to be more effective and profitable than the proposal made by the main market player, which has been helping organize such events for over 30 years. “We came forth with an innovative solution for a system to manage the forthcoming major sport event. The technology can be used for other international events, too. The export potential is vast: Olympics and Paralympics, all kinds of world championships, major industry-specific international seminars and other forums, which attract hundreds of thousands of people,” he stressed.

The cooperation agreement provides for rendering services to cover all the aspects of the forthcoming 2nd European Games Minsk 2019. The system will be able to record time, marks, and results. It will be able to transfer information about results to be used as part of television infographics. It will arrange lot drawing and qualification services, support specialized public and sport information tables. The Belarusian system will help run the Games by means of 13 services, including accreditation, accommodation management, personnel management, management of arrivals and departures. Medical support will be managed as well. If necessary, guests and participants of the Games will be able to promptly find nearby hospitals, clinics, drugstores, and their phone numbers. This information and the relevant geolocation data will be available via the mobile app.

Programs and services for each of them will be created by a dedicated team of developers and consultants, who will integrate the existing products with the new ones for the first time.
