MINSK, 22 June (BelTA) – The presidential election in Belarus will not take place until 4 October, Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Lidia Yermoshina said at the ONT talk show Matter of Principle, BelTA informs.
“Three months are envisaged for the election campaign. If the election date is announced on 30 June, it will be set to take place not before 4 October, the first Sunday of the month. The presidential election can take place later but before 15 November,” Lidia Yermoshina said.
As was informed earlier, the CEC suggested holding the presidential election in Belarus on 11 October. According to Lidia Yermoshina, it is a good date. There will be no need for calling an extraordinary session of the parliament.
