Xi Jinping’s visit hailed as historic, successful event
MINSK, 11 May (BelTA) – The state visit of the Chinese delegation led by China President Xi Jinping to Belarus is a historic and a rather successful event, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich said as he met with the Chinese leader on 11 May, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus is proud of its relations with China. We view the current visit to Belarus as historic and a rather important event. The documents which were signed yesterday open a new stage of Belarus-China relations,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
He noted that Belarus learns a lot from Chinese partners. “We are eager to use your experience. Every country has its peculiarities, but we have very much in common as far as the key development approaches are concerned,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, the current visit of the Chinese delegations takes place on very important days when Belarus celebrates the 70th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War.
For more than 20 years of diplomatic relations the Belarusian-Chinese trade has increased more than 100 times. According to the Economy Ministry, the bilateral trade went up 27% last year.
