MINSK, 1 November (BelTA) – The Embassy of the United States of America in Belarus will consider hiring more personnel, BelTA learned from U.S. Charge d’affaires to Belarus Robert Riley on 1 November.
Robert Riley said: “When we talk about any U.S. embassy, a larger number of services and a larger number of visitors require more personnel. We will certainly consider the possibility of increasing the number of personnel in order to provide more services to Belarusian citizens.”
The diplomat noted that the Belarusian side and the American one were not yet discussing the return of the U.S. ambassador to Minsk. “Our governments are having a dialogue but we have no specific dates yet when the ambassadors will return to both countries. We are not having any discussions about it,” specified the diplomat.
Robert Riley stated that Belarus-USA relations are improving and both sides are glad of it. “The process is very gradual, it is not fast, but we are focused and serious about it,” assured the diplomat. “We will continue a broad discussion with the Belarus government about many matters concerning our bilateral relations. We hope that the gradual dialogue will continue.”
