UN agencies might expand operations in Belarus

MINSK, 20 June (BelTA) – The United Nations agencies and organizations might step up their activities in Belarus. The matter was discussed at a meeting between Belarus Economy Minister Vladimir Zinovsky and UN Resident Coordinator/UNDP Resident Representative in Belarus Joanna Kazana-Wisniowiecki, BelTA learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry.

Vladimir Zinovsky congratulated Joanna Kazana-Wisniowiecki on her new appointment and assured that efficient and constructive cooperation with the UN agencies is highly important for Belarus. In her turn, the UN Resident Coordinator/UNDP Resident Representative in Belarus shared her aspirations to expand the activities of the UN agencies in Belarus.

The parties discussed a broad range of issues of the bilateral agenda, including international technical aid and joint efforts to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
