MINSK, 19 April (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia have completed technical work on a visa recognition agreement, Belarusian Interior Minister Igor Shunevich told journalists on 19 April, BelTA informs.
The document has been approved at the domestic level, the minister said. “There are no special obstacles to this agreement. This is a regular issue. I think the decision will be taken,” Igor Shunevish added. The minister, however, did not specify the agreement will be signed.
BelTA reported earlier that Belarus and Russia plan to ink an abridged version of the agreement on mutual visa recognition by 4 June. It has been drafted to enable football fans to freely transit Belarus on their way to Russia during the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
