Rusetsky: Belarus, Hungary can improve parliamentary, economic cooperation

MINSK, 29 April (BelTA) – Belarus and Hungary have every opportunity to improve their parliamentary and economic cooperation, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic Anatoly Rusetsky said at the meeting with the Hungarian parliamentary delegation led by Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Hungarian National Assembly Zsolt Nemeth on 29 April, BelTA has learned.

“I believe your visit will promote cooperation between the two countries. In my estimation, our relations are quite stable. At the same time we have an opportunity to improve both the parliamentary and economic cooperation,” said Anatoly Rusetsky. The Vice Speaker stated that the parliaments of the two states have set up mutual friendship groups.

In his words, the annual trade between Belarus and Hungary makes up nearly $200 million. “This figure is very small. We need to increase the mutual trade,” noted Anatoly Rusetsky. The MP stressed that the Hungarian export to Belarus exceeds Belarusian supplies to Hungary. Anatoly Rusetsky believes the two countries can cooperate in bus production and sales, and also in the pharmaceutical sector. Besides, some of the Hungarian food products made a good showing in Belarus back in the Soviet times.
