Revised decree on rehabilitating Belarusian agricultural enterprises ready soon

MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) – The revised presidential decree on the financial rehabilitation of agricultural enterprises will be submitted for consideration of the Belarusian head of state soon. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Rusy made the statement on the air of the TV channel Belarus One, BelTA has learned.

Mikhail Rusy reminded that active work is in progress to improve financial performance indicators of agricultural enterprises. Two presidential decrees have been passed with that in mind — No.253 and No.268. Amendments to the former were discussed at a government conference called by the head of state a short while ago. Mikhail Rusy remarked: “We take measures to keep every loss-making enterprises afloat in order to prevent social tension. The new revision of the decree will allow addressing these problems in a comprehensive manner. We have already come up with a strategy and will submit the document for consideration of the head of state.”

The deputy prime minister underlined that despite difficult weather conditions quite a good harvest has been collected in Belarus this year. “We’ve registered an increase in gross figures. The profits of our enterprises have increased. The number of loss-making enterprises has dropped by nearly 30%. The profitability has been doubled. Apart from that, this year we’ve sold $660 million worth of more products in comparison with last year,” said the official.

Mikhail Rusy pointed out that there are plans to raise the average milk yield per cow to over 5,000 liters this year. “Although the figure is small since we believe that every upgraded dairy farm has to produce at least 6,000 liters per cow. It will allow generating serious profits then,” he stated.

As many as 425 agricultural enterprises in Belarus are going through financial rehabilitation procedures in line with presidential decree No.253, including 323 enterprises in the pre-trial rehabilitation stage and 102 enterprises taken over by anticrisis managers.
