Prospects for implementing Belarus-Iceland joint educational programs discussed in Minsk

MINSK, 16 January (BelTA) - The prospects for implementing joint educational programs were discussed during a meeting between Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iceland to Russia and concurrently to Belarus Sigridur Berglind Asgeirsdottir, BelTA learned from the press service of the upper house of Belarusian Parliament.

The parties discussed the cooperation in trade, economy and parliamentary ties between the two countries. “Particular attention was paid to the prospects of expanding partnership in tourism, implementation of joint educational programs. IT, hydropower, ecology were named promising areas of cooperation,” the press service informed.

Mikhail Myasnikovich stressed the importance of parliamentary cooperation for the bilateral relations and invited a parliamentary delegation of Iceland to visit Belarus.

For her part, the Ambassador thanked for the warm reception and expressed confidence in the further expansion of cooperation between Belarus and Iceland.
