MINSK, 31 May (BelTA) – Promising avenues of cooperation between the central banks of Belarus and Lithuania were discussed as a delegation of the Bank of Lithuania visited Minsk, representatives of the Information and Public Relations Office of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB) told BelTA.
The delegations were led by Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB) Pavel Kallaur and Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania Vitas Vasiliauskas. The sides discussed peculiarities of implementing the monetary management policy by the two central banks, promising avenues of cooperation, the development of digital technologies and ways to improve cybersecurity in the banking industry.
Apart from that, participants of the meeting exchanged opinions about progress in implementing the European Union’s twinning project for enhancing the potential of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus. The project is being implemented by a consortium of banks: the German Federal Bank (Deutsche Bundesbank), the National Bank of Poland, and the Bank of Lithuania.
